Clinic Operations with Respect to COVID-19

NWRA Community,
 
Our top priority has always been the health and wellbeing of our patients and community. That is, after all, the reason NWRA exists: to enrich lives and promote wellness.
 
The best way for us to promote wellness at this time is to do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
 
To that end, we have made the difficult decision to limit the number of in-person visits at the clinic. We recognize some patients truly require in-person treatment and cannot afford to take a hiatus from physical therapy. These are the patients we will continue to serve in the clinic, and in order to ensure their safety, we have increased our cleaning protocol and are respecting social distancing as much as possible.
 
Further, physical therapists have been called upon to serve patients so they can avoid going to the ER or their primary care doctor so as to lighten their burden and allow them to treat COVID-19 patients. We are heeding this call.
 
In these trying times, many insurance companies are now funding telemedicine visits, which are essentially physical therapy treatment sessions that occur via secured, HIPAA compliant video chat (see this video of a patient sharing his experience with telehealth). Changes are occurring daily on this front. Please email us if you are interested, and we can explore that option for you. Whether you are coming to the clinic or not, we respectfully ask that you match our efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19. Respecting social distancing, staying home as much as possible, and frequently washing your hands are three great strategies for doing so.
 
We look forward to this pandemic coming to a close and returning to “normal” life. Until then, stay safe and be well.
