National Falls Prevention Awareness Day

NWRA’s  plans for the National Fall Prevention Awareness Day (NFPAD) are underway for September 22, 2016 (the first full day of Fall). We will keep our successful structure of past years and offer a free balance screening – open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis, beginning at 4:00pm.

We will also be providing information regarding falls, recovering from a fall, and exercises to prevent falls, includubg games and prizes to win – with fun and education enjoyed by all. For those that are interested in their overall fall risk and specific areas of impairment, we will provide data accordingly and individualized home exercise interventions to complement. Our goal – prevent the next fall, this Fall!

The free clinic in 2015 was staffed by clinicians of NWRA and students of George Fox University for the second year in a row. We expect the same in 2016, with the event to be led by Kelsi Smith, PT, DPT.
